Organizations I have partnered with

The work

Change rarely waits until you feel ready.

Every leader I work with reaches a moment where the weight of the role outpaces the clarity they have for it. A transition arrives before the plan does. A team feels a tension no one is naming. The path forward matters, and it isn't obvious yet.

There is a space between who you have become and who you are being called to be. My work is to walk it with you.

Most people try to rush through that space. I bring honesty, structure, and enough warmth that the hard parts start to feel possible. You get clear vision when the room feels dark, and the tools to move from where you are to where you are meant to be.

Work with me

Three ways to bring me in

Every engagement is shaped to your people and your goals. These are the formats organizations book most often.

Speaking

Keynotes & talks

Talks that give your audience language for what they are carrying and a way forward they can actually use.

  • Length 45 to 90 minutes, including Q&A
  • Format In person or virtual
  • Best for Conferences, all-staff days, leadership summits
  • Audience Any size
Training

Workshops & series

Interactive, framework-driven sessions that leave people with tools they use the next morning.

  • Length 90 minutes, half day, full day, or a multi-part series
  • Format In person or virtual, with small-group work
  • Best for Staff development, onboarding, ongoing PD
  • Audience Works best at 15 to 60
Consulting

Advisory partnership

Longer-term support for leaders and teams navigating growth, transition, or strain.

  • Length Ongoing engagements, typically 3 to 12 months
  • Format Leadership sessions, team facilitation, program design
  • Best for Culture change, restructuring, retention work
  • Audience Leaders and intact teams

Not sure which fits? Most engagements start with a short call to figure that out together.

The approach

Proven frameworks, built around your people

Two decades of clinical practice gave me a set of frameworks that make this work concrete instead of abstract. They are the foundation. From there, we build each engagement together, shaped around your people, your culture, and what you actually need to move.

E.G.O. Model

A map of the self-protective patterns that keep people and teams stuck, from the Lone Wolf to the Fortress, and the path through them.

C.A.R.E. Framework

A structure for leading, relating, and communicating with steadiness when the stakes and the pressure run high.

Signature topics

What your people walk away with

Trauma-Informed Organizations

Building workplaces where people feel safe enough to do their best work.

  • Recognize how stress and past experience show up in day-to-day work behavior
  • Apply practical responses that steady a team instead of escalating it
  • Identify the policies and norms that quietly undermine trust
Trauma-Informed Classrooms

Equipping educators to hold steady for students carrying more than they show.

  • Read behavior as communication rather than defiance
  • Use classroom strategies that keep students regulated and engaged
  • Set boundaries that protect both the student and the educator
Burnout Prevention

Practical strategies for teams running close to empty, before they run out.

  • Spot the early signals of burnout in yourself and your team
  • Name the workload and culture drivers leaders can actually change
  • Leave with a sustainable practice, not just a wellness slogan

Topics are regularly tailored, and custom sessions are built for organizations with a specific need.

How it works

What working together looks like

No surprises, and nothing off the shelf. Here is the path from first call to lasting change.

01

We talk

A short call to understand your context, your people, and what you need to be different afterward.

02

I tailor it

I shape the session or series around your culture and goals, and confirm objectives with you before delivery.

03

We do the work

Delivery that is interactive and honest, built so people leave with language and tools they will actually use.

04

We measure it

Pre- and post-program measures show what shifted, so you have something real to report.

Accountability

Held to clear standards

I build pre- and post-program outcome measures into engagements so each one is held to clear clinical and learning standards. You get evidence of what changed, not just a good day.

Logistics

The practical details

  • Delivery In person and virtual
  • Travel Available nationally, based in metro Atlanta
  • Materials Slides and participant resources included
  • Booking Typically 6 to 12 weeks out; rush dates sometimes possible
In their words

Melissa's refreshing mix of technical and human approach is what separates this workshop from the others.

About

Who I am

For more than twenty years I have practiced as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, sitting with people in their hardest and most honest moments. In 2019 I left hospital-based work to build this practice full time.

I have spent the years since helping leaders, founders, and organizations do the deeper work that lasting change asks of them. My work sits at the intersection of Western clinical training and the spiritual and Indigenous knowledge systems that have always sustained people, and I bring both, along with the practicality of a strategist, to every room I am invited into.
